The Minimum Lenten Observance

Abstinence: All Catholics who have reached their 14th birthday are bound to abstain totally from meat on the following days: Ash Wednesday, all Fridays of Lent and Good Friday.

Fasting: All Catholics between their 18th and 59th birthdays are also bound to observe the Law of Fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. This practice involves limiting oneself to a single full meal and avoiding food between meals. Light sustenance may be taken on two other occasions in the course of the day.

Self-denial: Is encouraged voluntarily. Acts might include daily Mass, spiritual study, Lenten devotions, the Rosary, deeds of kindness etc.

Weekday Masses: Thursday & Friday 7 AM

Taize Prayer: Sundays of Lent at 6:30 PM

Stations of the Cross: Fridays at 12:00 PM

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Friday 7:30 – Noon

Rosary for Peace: Third Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM

Sacrament of Reconciliation: Sunday after 10 AM Mass

Lenten Devotion

Stations of the Cross will be held in the church every Friday during Lent. They will begin at Noon.

Lenten Evening Prayer

Taize prayer services will be held each Sunday evening during lent at 6:30p.m. Beginning on Sunday, February 18th and continuing through Sunday, March 24th. Taize prayer blends song, silence, and scripture into a meditative experience. Each service lasts about 40 minutes. All are welcome, from any parish as well as any Christian denomination. Feel free to bring a friend.

Soup and Scripture

It’s time to look forward to Lent (and Spring!!). This year we will be having Soup and Scripture every Wednesday for the 6 weeks of Lent. It will begin with soup at 6:30pm and then followed by scripture at 7:00pm. The book we will be using is “Celebrating the Mass” by Kevin Perrota space is limited. Call the office to sign up.
